Having a daily routine is a great way to pack a lot of productivity into your day. When you begin the day with a routine, it helps to jump-start the day with motivation and keeps you focused on doing the things you want and need to get done…BEFORE you do those time-wasting things like sit down with coffee to check email (for an hour or more). Ending the day with a routine helps to wrap up those loose ends so that you can drift off to a restful sleep, and wake without facing a messy house or dirty sink, and so that you can avoid starting another day off forgetting something...the kids’ lunches, that errand you need to run, or an appointment. A couple years ago I shared some daily routine plans and printables on the blog, and today I thought I’d share those again for anyone that wasn’t following at that time, as well as any updates I’ve done since then. Admittedly it’s time again for me to create a routine and get back on it. My schedule has changed and when that happens it’s a great time to revisit and revise those routines. If you get off track, just work to get back on!
How you do your daily routine is up to you…frame it like I did on my command station, create a planner page, or use a separate notebook just for these checklists. I think you’ll find, though, that if you get yourself to follow a routine of about 5 things each in the morning, afternoon and evening that help you work towards organization, you’ll find yourself well on your way to an organized life!
