I was starting to feel pretty boring going white in yet another room. With the exception of our bedroom and the bathroom (and the hallway which will be white once I get a chance to paint it), the entire upstairs is now Sherwin Williams Creamy. After so many magazine and online pics of white rooms with bright pops of turquoise and other bright colors, I was just smitten. Though I’ve since realized that many of those “white” rooms are actually a light grey, I am just in love with this shade of white. We don’t have white trim, so choosing colors that work with this awful woodwork gets to be kind of a headache…otherwise grey would have been on the list for at least a few rooms. (And I have no motivation to paint ALL the woodwork in our house.) I love the clean feeling of white, and how it makes everything in the room stand out. Instead of noticing the walls, you notice the furnishings and the accessories. There are still things I want to do in our other white spaces, like add pattern and texture with different curtains, maybe some rugs, etc. But thus far there isn’t a paint color that I really feel drawn to put on my walls other than this crisp, clean, creamy white! Faith loves it and we haven’t even put anything on the walls, so I guess that’s a win!
Check one more thing off the list…whoo hoo!!!
