Wow…LATE post today! I had the day off and as it turned out I got nothing.done. I had a doctor appointment and dentist appointment (good times), and when it was all said and done had three hours at home before I got Faith from school. First hour: Called my mom. Second hour: Ate lunch (Thai take-out) and watched Young & The Restless. Third hour: Napped. While it was all well worth it and nice to relax for a bit, I was mostly frustrated after because there are apples to cook, tables to paint, and blogs to write! It’s a wonder I ever got to Jazzercise tonight!
I’ve been planning for some time to repaint the two end tables and the coffee table in our living room, and finally started the process just over a week ago. I finished the first one last Thursday and another is nearing completion.
I’m not sure where I got this table. Guessing a garage sale at some point. It isn’t anything valuable or special, but I’ve always liked the space below where my basket of magazines perfectly fits:
It also has a drawer but I failed to get a before photo before I removed the drawer to paint.
Initially I painted it chocolate brown with regular latex paint leftover from painting our wainscot. Over time it looked bad and the basket left marks. (Don’t use latex paint on furniture. Stick with enamel or chalk paint.) I consulted the experts for the next paint job and wound up with an enamel paint (Sherwin Williams, I believe) in black. That stayed much better, but it did get worn after a few years of use. Then to push up the new paint job even sooner, I spilled a cup of water and a coupon or something stuck to the table:
I am so close on the other end table and then will be starting on the coffee table. I hope to have those ready to share next week!
