Over the weekend I Mod Podged some Dollar Tree pumpkins (while catching up on Young and the Restless ;)), and I finally got my “mantle” shelf redecorated for Halloween so that I could share them! I realized after taking the pics that I forgot to put up the pennant banner I found at the Target dollar section…will have to try and update that later!
The wood board doesn’t quite fit the theme but I like the warmth it adds. I may need to conjure up a pallet sign or something. 😉 #likeineedanotherproject #aintnobodygottimeforthat
The pumpkins and crows were purchased last year at the Dollar Tree. I simply Mod Podged scrapbook paper in 2″ strips (the length of the pumpkin from stem to bottom), using Kari’s tutorial here. With the exception of the wood board (Mary & Martha) and the wreath (free from an organizing client), the decorations cost a total of around $10! (Oh, and I already had the black candlestick.) Just search around your home for things you can use to layer and add height! I still want to do something fun with the stems but this is as far as I’ve gotten for now!
Hair update: I decided my color’s still good and I usually wait to color my hair until before the holidays, so I’m still getting my hair cut/colored (as pictured here) but not for another month! Faith’s ready to cut her hair shorter, too, so we’ll get to do it together this way (she needs long hair for Halloween ;)).
