We’re one week into this series and it’s high-time we did a quick organizing project! I think that life is so much more enjoyable when things are picked up and in place, so it’s always great finding fast and simple solutions to help us keep it that way!
Finally, finally, finally! I have stuff back up on the kitchen walls! We started painting cabinets Memorial Weekend, which led to painting the walls…then I had the baker’s rack to complete. It has been such a drawn-out process and I have been dying to get things back up on the walls so that I can finally enjoy my new white kitchen! In just a matter of minutes my husband had a couple things up for me that will go a long way in helping to keep the kitchen organized!
My original intention was to return most of the things I had on the walls, but had decided for sure to replace the key holder that had been by the back door. I had the wooden organizer/key holder that i was using since probably my very first apartment over 15 years ago. I replaced it with this simpler and way cuter metal key organizer from Hobby Lobby.
(I had dirty dishes out and the back door still needs painted, so I didn’t take full shots…they’ll be coming eventually!)
I had also picked up a turquoise cross at Hobby Lobby to balance out the color in the baker’s rack, but for some reason Brad and I weren’t fans of it on the kitchen wall. It might be going back in favor of something more subtle.
But I love the look of this chalkboard and basket that I picked up at Target over the weekend. It wasn’t a planned purchase, but the warm wood and the basket with that cute label holder had me smitten! (I love anything with those label holders!) I really wanted it by the back door to write reminders to Brad and to serve as a place for the things he needs to grab on his way out to work, but I way overestimated the wall space there. So instead it’s visible right as you walk in the kitchen, and I think it’s going to be my new menu board! I can put recipes in the basket along with a chalkboard marker.
