I try to make each holiday special with my daycare kids by having them dress for a group photo (in holiday colors), making festive foods for lunch and snacks, and with books and activities. Today they made cute birdhouses from kits I got at Wal Mart for $1 (awesome!), and then I hid hearts around the two play areas for them to find. They thought that was great! Lunch was this open-faced ham and cheese sandwich, an idea I got from the current issue of Family Fun magazine. So cute, right?! (it’s half of a bread round with ham, white American and yellow American cheeses, all cut into hearts.) Of course you can’t have a Valentine meal without red veggies and fruit, so the meal was completed with red bell pepper strips (Ranch dip, of course) and strawberries. Later we’ll read Valentine books and have heart Jell-O Jigglers!
My Thirty-One party orders are arriving today so I can finally start the organizing project in my craft room/office!!! Can’t wait!
