I am so excited about this project and only wish the photos looked as cute as the real thing! When we bought this house five years ago, the previous owners left several things, several of which have been their trash turned into my treasure! This wheeled cart was one of them:
|I Heart Organizing|
I love the gold legs & trim, and Jen’s cart has great features including two lower shelves, the upper tray AND a drawer! Mine doesn’t have all that…but then again, it’s FREE!
I started by flipping it upside down and priming the entire cart, first the underside, and eventually the tops of each surface. I sprayed EVERYTHING, despite the fact that the underside wouldn’t be seen. I figured enough of the hardware might be visible, so it was easier to just cover the works!
I decided to bring out the blues in my outdoor chair cushions and add some summer bright color to the space with this cart. I couldn’t decide between the Lagoon color I’d used for my DIY tray or a lighter Aqua color. I finally decided to use both and attempt an ombre technique!
Despite those imperfections, though, I LOVE how the cart turned out! The bottom shelf perfectly fits my antique soda crate! The crate adds some extra color but is also divided, so I could use it for holding utensils, bottles of pop or water, or maybe even wine glasses! (The spaces aren’t big enough for mason jars…boo!)
From dirty, underused formica to ooh-la-la-aqua! You can see this and the other projects I highlighted this week on my summer party post at Voices from the Ville!
