This is the final week of the 31 days series! I meant to forewarn you that I wouldn’t be posting over the weekend (since I’ve failed to the two prior), but figured that if you’ve been following you already knew that…and if you haven’t you probably wouldn’t miss it!
I’ve decided that for the first week of November I’m taking a bloggy hiatus to do some catching up. With a decorating job in the works for a client, and my normal crazy schedule, I’m finding I need a few days to devote to my daycare kids’ photo books (which I send home prior to Christmas break) and just generally catch up. It’s hard for me to step away because I’ve done so well this year blogging every weekday, but I’m trying to be a little easier on myself and simplify life in general. If I get caught up on some of the other stuff, then I’ll be a better blogger in the long-run. Just a heads up, I plan to do the same over Christmas break, too. I have some blog updates I need to finally get implemented, and will be anxious to get started for a great year of blogging in 2014! It will be my first time taking two weeks off from daycare over Christmas, so I’m looking forward to no scheduled commitments!
I’m not ready to think about Christmas OR a new year right now, though, so let’s get back to 31 Days of Saving Money…just 4 of them left! I finally had a full day to do some work around the house yesterday and it was FAB-U-LOUS! I have been feeling so sluggish and unmotivated and just generally overwhelmed lately, so catching up on projects (or at least making progress on catching up) felt so good. And that gave me the idea for today’s post!
So what’s a way to feel good that doesn’t cost a thing? Take a day…catch up on a project…organize something…feel like you accomplished something good. And if the weather cooperates, spend part of that time outside!
Here was my Sunday:
8:00 woke up (good night of sleep and got to sleep in!)
10:00-11:00 ran errands with hubby
11:00 ran to grocery store when we discovered we were out of ketchup
12:00-2:30 organized paint closet & worked on coffee table project
2:00-3:00 took a couple boxes out for donation and went for ice cream run (we worked hard!)
3:00-3:30 played Go Fish with Faith
3:30-4:10 final coat of paint on coffee table (almost done!) and worked in the basement some more
4:10-4:40 got Faith in costume
5:00-5:30 Trunk-or-Treat at Faith’s school
…then spent the rest of the evening entering receipts from the weekend, getting mail ready to go out, filling out insurance forms, and just doing as much as I could to be ready for the start of the week!
I love the feeling of a productive day, and getting to spend quality time with my daughter made it even better! The bonus was that the momentum carried through to today, and before I took Faith to school I had cleaned the bathroom, vacuumed, started the dishwasher, and took things downstairs (there was quite a pile)! I’ve been lacking that motivation for a while so having that boost was great!
|Organized paint/utility closet!|
That’s a pic of the room I tackled (paint/utility closet). I’ll share more on that project soon…just a little more to do and I need to get some better lighting in there for pics!
Have you been feeling sluggish, unaccomplished, tired??? Try taking a day, half-a-day, or even an hour and see what you can accomplish. I bet you’ll come out on the other side feeling energized and great!
