After dropping and breaking not one, but two, iPhone cases from Vistaprint I decided to go back to the mint one I started with. I was disappointed because the other cases had the My Blissful Space logo on them and were pretty cute! But they’re a hard plastic, and one drop will do them in…or so I discovered. I really didn’t want just the plain mint case, so I decided to jazz it up a bit. I almost embellished it with a gold Sharpie, but then decided to use some Washi tape instead and I love how it turned out!
I started wrapping the Washi just below the camera hole. I wasn’t sure if I’d go back and cover that and cut out the hole, fill in that space with gold Sharpie, or just leave it. In the end I opted to leave it, though I think any of the other options would have been ok, too! As I wrapped I made sure I had enough slack to come around to the other side of the case. Washi tends to peel off if edges are left out, and this way the phone would secure the edges of the tape.
I went back after it was all taped and used a small Exacto knife to cut out the opening for the volume buttons on the side. It’s not perfect but it works!
