Today marks the 2nd to the last day that I’ll be sharing Faith’s birthday parties with you! We’ve covered Rubber Ducky (1), Abby Cadabby (2), Yo Gabba Gabba (3), Cinderella (4), and today, Hello Kitty (5)! Tomorrow I’ll skip my normal Week of Bliss series to share her party from last week when she turned 6.
I grew up with little knowledge of Hello Kitty. All I knew was that it was a “brand” of pencils, stickers, stampers and the like…similar to Lisa Frank “stuff”. Faith really hadn’t had much exposure to Hello Kitty, either, or so I thought, when she decided that would be the theme for her 5th birthday party. At first I wasn’t excited. I mean, I knew nothing about it so how on earth could I throw this party?
Well, whether I know about it or not, I always go about planning Faith’s parties the same way. I start some sort of planning sheet, whether it be as simple as a notebook or something I type up in Word. I start with the easy stuff: Date and time of party, location, theme. Usually I know a color scheme at the get-go, so I write that down. Then I start searching Pinterest and the internet for ideas. There are so many ideas out there…so many moms who have gone before us and shared their ideas. You can find pictures of cakes and invitations, decoration ideas, and fun ideas for games and food.
Normally I don’t like to copy something exactly, but in this case, I did copy an invitation I found online. Sometimes you don’t reinvent the wheel! This was my inspiration (original link cannot be found):
