My daughter often accompanies me to the grocery store, and as she’s getting older increasingly wants to help with the shopping. This is a great way to keep kids busy and prevent some of the crankies at the store! I finally completed another project on my eternal to-do list, and a couple weeks ago made her a child-friendly grocery list! I simply created this on Microsoft Home Publishing, using clip art as well as words (she’s just starting to read this year, so this will help with word recognition and still make her feel successful at the store). I chose things that we regularly get and that I thought she could help find (I omitted eggs from the list for obvious reasons). One space is blank so that I can add something different each time, and I laminated the sheet so that we can reuse it (I don’t like to waste paper or ink). Armed with her list and a dry-erase marker, she’ll be ready to go for the next shopping trip!
