I’m back after a week of being MIA on the blog. The Hubby and I spent a couple days last week at home sick, I had one day back to daycare, and then Friday was my daughter’s field trip and spring concert day. The field trip was an Ag Festival at a nearby fairground, and it was a cold, damp day. After having just gotten over what I can only assume was some form of the flu, being outside in the cold weather made what wasn’t such a bad cough into a miserable cough. The cold continued with a couple rainy weekend days, and my energy took a big hit. I’m not really quite back to normal even today, but we’re expecting sunshine and warm temps this week so I’m anticipating an improvement very soon!
Before getting sick I finally decided to tackle a dresser painting project that I’d been putting off. I am stripping this black dresser and giving it new life for the living room.
A couple weekends ago I started stripping it, and now it just needs a final scrubbing with steel wool followed by a good sanding. I was so excited to see the wood underneath, and hope that after I stain and paint it, the beauty will shine through!
For years I’ve wanted to do May Day baskets like Mom always did with us growing up, but every year April blows through and May 1 is here before I know it. Without a plan in place, May Day baskets have just never happened. This year was different, though, and I managed to finally make it happen now that my daughter’s almost nine! We had a rainy day for delivery, but using Mason jars kept everything dry. I think they turned out pretty cute!
Faith filled them with popcorn and M&M’s, and I made a label for the top and tied on a ribbon, keeping with our rainbow theme. Easy peasy!
The labels didn’t turn out quite as cute as they should have because for some reason my printer wouldn’t print yellow or green (grrr!), but they’re done and delivered and the recipients were excited. Success!
All the girls are home from school tomorrow and we have a birthday to celebrate, but I hope to get back on schedule with blogging and my blog training (waaaayyyy behind!). The final blog updates are done, though…did you notice the new consult schedule button and the subscription form?? Hopefully now there’s no doubt what I do and what my blog’s about! 😉
