Tired doesn’t even begin to cover how I’ve been feeling lately. I mean understatement of the year. (Good thing it’s been a short year so far.) Trying to cram training for Jazzercise auditions when I’m already behind on just about everything else is exhausting, and add to that the kind of personal stress that just leaves you feeling lifeless. That was my week last week. Tired.In.Every.Way. That kind of full-body fatigue where you feel like 24 hours of sleep would still leave you feeling not rested.
But I pushed through as best as I could, took an hour nap on Saturday, and I finally felt human that evening. I got one of the two daycare photo books completed (can I get a WHOO HOO?!)! Faith and I started working on Valentines, and we did a little shopping. Add to that church, some Jazzercise “studying”, and 30-60 minutes of decluttering, and it was a full weekend!
I am down to less than two weeks before Jazzercise auditions and there’s quite a bit yet to do. (I’m recertifying as an instructor if you’re just checking in.) I have an online/book test to study for and take (like, today would be good), a couple more routines to learn, and then it’s fine-tuning and getting my endurance up. Oh, that endurance. I’ve done it before and I know I can do it again. The short time frame is the only thing that has me concerned. But I will push and do my best, and let God take care of the rest!
One of the shopping errands Faith and I had to do yesterday was to run to Target to exchange some dishes. You may remember me sharing these that I got for Christmas…
They are from the Target Wellsbridge collection. My original plan was to get two sets of the aqua and two sets of white, and they layer them when we have company. Over Christmas break I purchased a set of the white, only to come home and find out that a mug on top had broken. For the past month the box has been sitting on my kitchen floor waiting to be exchanged, which I decided to do yesterday.
We were unable to locate a white set to exchange for, and while we were looking I questioned if I’d gotten the right set to begin with. At any rate, I knew I could get them online, but had also been eyeing this other Threshold set…
The set is called Haylee on the box but Mila online…not really sure what that’s about, but just an FYI if you decide to look for them yourself.
The colors are fun and the pattern slightly reminded me of our honeymoon to Cabo. The blue coordinates perfectly with the Wellsbridge set, so I stood in the aisle at Target debating if I should/could layer these two sets instead of two of the same. The rim of the plates on the Wellsbridge is very defined and the plates are on the smaller side to begin with, so I wasn’t sure if layering the two would work. Fortunately, though, they were on display so I could play around and sure enough, it DID work!
Here’s what I love about this combination:
*Getting to combine two looks for more interest
*The bowls are the same size and shape and the blues match, so they look great together.
*I knew Brad would hate the rim on the blue plates, and these other ones are just a normal, flat plate. (You have no idea the arguments we’ve had about dinnerware this past couple years. Geesh!)
*I was a little worried about the pure white of the set I originally planned to get, because I had purchased some Mary & Martha serving pieces to go with but they’re more of an antique white or cream. This new set will go with those pieces a lot better.
*The mugs are smaller and not typically a shape I’d gravitate towards, but they’re adorable none-the-less and I decided they’d be great “Faith-sized” cocoa mugs! And as it turned out last night, they’re also the perfect size for tea!

I’m excited for the first opportunity I get to do a fun layered dinner table! Hmmm…who wants to come to dinner?! I have one runner that works so far with these dishes, so it’s time to start browsing for additional elements!
You know, when I have time. Ha!
