For the past year or so I have been using the same red purse from JC Penney…and I really liked it. It was a $20 cutie in a perfect orangey-red that worked with about every color. But with every purse comes problems, it seems, and that one was no different. My biggest complaint would be that the shape of it caused things to easily get lost on the bottom (and it wasn’t a huge purse by any means), and it’s pretty irritating constantly digging for keys or lip balm. The stitching around the handles and seams was starting to fray, so that was my push to do something different.
I never in a million thought I would be the kind of girl to carry a more slouchy, tote-style bag. They don’t have as much structure, are limited on pockets, and there’s just no built-in organization. Unless…you make it organized yourself!
I finally bit the bullet and got this adorable Retro Metro Elite bag from Thirty-One Gifts to use as a purse. I immediately fell in love with the chevron embroidery on the pockets and the lace on the straps.
