I finally got a chance to do some organizing this month! There is still a ways to go in this space, but I managed to get my cupboards organized that house our craft supplies, as well as business supplies for my daycare, Mary Kay, and now My Blissful Space!
|Bottom two shelves are Faith’s craft items, and the upper shelves have my daycare references, some of my overflow craft supplies, and paint and playdough.|
I utilized my new Thirty-One rectangles and cube (the aqua on top and the chevron cube in the middle), though they’re not full yet. These will be where I keep supplies to use for organizing, decorating, or planning parties for people. Normally I wouldn’t spend this much for storage, but I hosted a party and got a lot free, plus these items were on sale in January. I appreciate the pop of color amid all the white and plastic! The rectangles and cube have a plastic window on one side so that you can see the contents, or if you’d rather, you can order them with personalization on the other side (labeling, my favorite!!!). If I knew I’d always use them for the same purpose, I would have done that, but I have a habit of reusing storage many different ways.
The 2nd shelf of the “business cabinet” is where I’m keeping my daycare binders and references, and the plastic basket on the right of the books is for daycare specific activity supplies (baby oil and shaving cream for scientific creations, magnets, and other imaginative toys).
Below that I have a basket with some Mary Kay supplies (my inventory and most of my other supplies are upstairs), and the cube for My Blissful Space.
The bottom two shelves are where I keep specialty paper (resume paper & envelopes, copy paper, etc.), labels, and mailing supplies.
In between the two larger cabinets is this smaller one. On top I have a couple of my photo boxes (the two that aren’t random colors so it doesn’t look like a mess), and a file box where I keep Faith’s school papers that I will hang onto. (There is a folder for each year she’s in school, and I try to be a little particular about what is worthy of keeping.)
Sorry for the blurry pic below! BOY do I need a new camera! Anyway, inside the smaller cabinet are boxes of photos that need organized and scrapbooked, a basket with computer discs and cell phone accessories/manuals, and on the bottom is a basket with my sewing supplies. The plastic containers to the right of the sewing basket are divided containers that my mother-in-law picked up at a garage sale. I just need to figure out which, if any, I want to keep and get the rest back to her. There is still some space that I’m sure I will find a purpose for as I continue to organize this room.
This is the craft cabinet after I moved the daycare stuff out and did some rearranging.
The bottom two shelves remained the same, I just tidied them up. The smaller bins are for Faith’s craft supplies (stickers, pencils/paper/envelopes, foam stickers, pipe cleaners, beads and googly eyes, etc.). The large purple bin houses our Play-Doh supplies.
Moving up a shelf, the white basket has acrylic art paints, watercolor and paintbrushes (mostly for daycare use). The smaller basket to the right of it has some other craft supplies and a bag of paint t-shirts.)
Shelf 2 is where I moved my overflow craft supplies that don’t fit on the built-in shelves in the room (which I’ll show at a later date). I also have a magazine holder filled with several issues of Scrapbooks, Etc., a magazine I loved getting and was sad to learn went out of publication. On the top shelf I have more photo boxes (I have lots of scrapbooking to catch up on!), and in front is a box of freezer paper that I bought to make it possible to cut fabric with my Pazzles. (Didn’t have success the first time but I’m sure I’ll use it again.)
