Glad Brad was at least productive! I did teach Jazzercise both Saturday and Sunday, and of course threw Faith’s birthday party Saturday afternoon (pics tomorrow!). The bestie found me some garage sale lounge chairs for a great deal (another project!) and I’ve been enjoying the nice weather relaxing on those with Faith! As much as I have to do, I’m trying to be better about carving a little downtime to just enjoy time outside and just BE. Working on Jazzercise routines, church, menu planning and grocery shopping took up much of Sunday. There’s just never enough weekend. Glad we get three days next weekend!
Another weekend come-and-gone and I feel like I accomplished nothing. Time is just not my friend these days! My evenings this week are less committed, so hopefully I can catch up. The coffee table and desk are covered in piles screaming for my attention. The freezers are still unorganized. I started organizing photos and creating a post to share how I do that with you, but was having technical difficulties and that went to the wayside as well, though I hope to tackle that next.
Brad started taking off cupboard doors to sand for our cabinet painting project this coming weekend. Paint is bought and I’m excited! He was a busy boy and also managed to put up the pallet herb garden that he made for me (his idea!). He found this idea online somewhere, and thought it was a good idea for my herbs. I still have two shelves to fill but he got some basil and cilantro planted on the top. He stained it to match our deck and swing-set (which he also recently stained).
He decided to put it on the landing of the deck, right next to the front door. It creates easy access from the kitchen when I need some herbs, and it will get sufficient sunlight. Since we don’t have a railing there, it also acts as a pseudo-rail. He used heavy gauge wire to attach it to the support beam.
To protect the deck from any water damage in the event of over-watering or rain accumulation in the boxes, he stapled a piece of tarp underneath. (He’s pretty smart.)
Our deck is littered with helicopters!
I already used some basil today to make tomato soup! I’m excited to fill the rest of the boxes with rosemary, chives, thyme and maybe some parsley or more cilantro!
