Pretty sure this will be the only post EVER that has “poop” in the title. And possibly the content. But then I do daycare, so anything’s possible. And let me also be clear, I’m not suggesting recycling or reusing USED poop bags. Stay with me, people. 😉
I recently heard a great idea to reuse bread bags for dog poop bags. They’re heavier than the kind you can buy on a roll at the store, and they’re free! It’s a great way to use something that otherwise would have gone to the garbage anyway. We don’t go through a ton of bread, but this is a great tip to use even just on a camping trip with your family in the summer. When you use up those hot dog buns, voila! When we’re just home we shovel Remi’s “waste”, but when we’re out-and-about, bags are necessary (like on a walk).
I got to thinking that this would also work great for stinky diapers! I’m currently out of Diaper Genie refills, so I have been using store sacks to throw diapers away in. My in-laws also gave us a bunch of smaller plastic bags to use for our dog that I thought I’d use for the time being. I realized that whether for dog or baby, it would be great to have a convenient (and cute ;)) place to store these bags that can be reused for such a purpose.
|Big plans. Did NOT use Mod Podge in the end.|
In the beginning I had big plans of Mod Podge-ing this wrapping paper to the box. And then I realized that was silly and I just wrapped it like a present. 😉 Before I did that, though, I cut an oval out of the top of the box to make filling and dispensing the bags easy. That Champion shoe label served as a great stencil to cut around, but you could trace something or freehand draw your opening. It’s just a box for poo bags, so perfection not necessary.
