Two posts in a week…I’m on a roll! 😉 My nap yesterday and a whole lot of Young Living supplements and essential oils seem to be keeping my cold under control and I’m feeling much better today. I’m knocking things off the to-do list and staying on target with my schedule…yahoo!!! Today I want to share a really cool website that I recently learned about but let me first say that while I was compensated for this post, the opinions are 100% mine and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by going and checking them out! Read on to find out more!
Now I’m all for DIY gifts and decor, but I think most of us are not immune to the Pinterest fail.
Nailed it! Ha ha!
Some of you don’t want to even attempt to make your own. And while 50% of the things on this site are made by hand, these aren’t the kind of things most of us would even THINK to try at home! (They’re that good.) Not only that, but one-third of their collection incorporates upcycled and/or recycled materials, and items are made in harmony with the environment without harm to animals or people. Love that!
The site is called Uncommon Goods and when I started browsing I found not only some things that I’d love to have for myself that I haven’t seen elsewhere, but I also discovered that this would be a great site to go to when I’m trying to buy a gift. And not just any gift, but a gift for THAT person. The kind of person that’s so hard to buy for. The one that gets everything themselves. The one you’ve just run out of new ideas for. The one you really want to blow away but can’t seem to hit the mark. I think you’ll find something to fit the bill here! I love that you can even break down the search from men or women to husband, wife, dad, mom, grandpa or grandma, and even best friend!
Men in the family are often the hardest for me to buy for, and my husband is no help when it comes to gifts for his dad, either. Uncommon Goods has some great options for guys that I’ve never seen before! BBQ and beer?? Of course!
For the man in charge…
I don’t like the “f” word though after a couple glasses of wine I do tend to use it for emphasis. 😉 This, however, is pretty funny…
I’m always up for great ideas for enhancing marriage and creating “date night” at home and this looks fun! This could be a his or hers gift for a spouse.
My daughter might like this more than my husband…popcorn while camping anyone??
If someone you know sees a lot of concerts, goes to games, or anything else involving tickets, this would be a great way to keep them!
Natural + working man = <3
Now for us! I had no problem finding all sorts of things for myself at Uncommon Goods, and hit on several items that would make great gifts for female family and friends. My ring dish broke so these birth stone ones caught my eye. I like the emerald one for my May birthday but this blue one for December is right up my alley, too!
Hey, honey, if you’re reading…I LOVE this necklace. (Five year anniversary is coming up, hint hint!) For your past, present and future…(and there are more anniversary gift ideas where that came from).
I love that this infusion water bottle has a refreezable base to keep things cold, that it’s cup-holder friendly, and that there’s a strap to take it along…because I always take my water everywhere!
A purse for wine…need I say more?!
My sister-in-law is getting married and I love this gift idea for a wedding!
Kids aren’t as difficult to buy for, maybe, but sometimes you just want to find something different. You want to know that when you give a child a gift, that they won’t open three of the same thing at their party. Uncommon Goods has some really fun stuff for kids, too!
Our daughter is very into purging her room, selling things and then saving for something new. This summer she did a couple lemonade stands and also sold things she made. She would count and count her money, which seemed a big greedy to me, but a learning ledger like this would be a great tool for keeping track of money she earns, saves and spends without dumping the piggy bank all the time!
Kids love the ice cream truck…now they can pretend to run one!
Kids and organization, anyone? Yes, please!
Have you ever wrapped a baby and called them a burrito?? Well, now they really can be one with this tortilla swaddle! My sister’s having a baby and I think she needs this…
Also THIS… (girl’s option also available)
For the Home
It wouldn’t be like me to skip over the home decor! In fact, after searching for things for myself under “gifts for women”, I went straight to home decor! Here were my faves…
A phone stand that doubles as a vase…
Turquoise and mint…ahhhhhh… (And there were several other cool ones where that came from.)
A daily reminder for all of us about love…
Again, turquoise. Because every time I see this basket it catches my eye. And hello…organization!
I could go on and on but it’s time for this girl to hit the hay, and I think you get the idea! With the holidays coming up faster than we’d like to think about it, I recommend checking out Uncommon Goods and getting a jump-start on your shopping! (And in case you haven’t yet, don’t forget to sign up for the rug pad giveaway!)
