I think that I said I was going to resume these weekly recaps months ago, but as things have been happening, I didn’t get to it. Well, things they are-a-changing! Before I get into all that, I recently decided to revamp this weekly series as I’m reintroducing it and wanted to share how it will now look.
While I plan to continue sharing personal highlights from my previous week, I also will now be including blog posts and articles that I think are worth sharing, maybe my latest Etsy finds, etc. It’s all about finding bliss in each week, being grateful for what’s around us, and sharing fun finds!
Side note: These weekly posts won’t usually be as wordy as they are today, but there’s a lot to share!!! 😀
Let’s Start With Coffee
I met my friend, Amber, for coffee on Wednesday because we both had the day off. What started out as “early coffee” turned into a 3-hour gab session…and it was awesome! We have never had the opportunity to do that and I was so glad that we did. And while I should NOT be drinking coffee (see Lenten plans…which got turned upside down by strep throat…excuses, excuses), I did…and I have a new favorite. I have to say I’d been less-than-enthused by new flavors at Starbucks lately but I love this one! Cinnamon Almondmilk Macchiato. It’s the bomb.com!
My Latest Excitement!
If you’ve been here for any amount of time in the past year or so, you know that I’ve been overwhelmed to the point of not
having dedicating time to work on the blog and related goals that I wanted to be working on. I thought I was determined enough to get it done. Turns out I was self-sabotaging but things are turning around!!!
My good friend, Amber, added me to a Facebook group called Fierce Thriving Women (if you are a faith-based entrepreneur, click the link and join the group!). The page is ran by Amber’s friend, Michele Edwards, and is where she inspires faith-based women entrepreneurs to success. I’ve only been on the page for maybe a week or so, and I’ve already gotten so much from the 5-day Prayer Challenge For Faith-Based Entreprenuers, as well as a one-on-one coaching session that I had with Michele! In 45 minutes we identified my challenges, came up with solutions, and made a plan of action for my goals for My Blissful Space.
One of my biggest goals for the past year was to complete Elite Blog Academy. I know that this training is going to help me fine-tune where I need to be spending my time and focus as a blogger, and once completed will be worth my investment (especially if the testimonials are any indication!). While everyone works at EBA at their own pace and there is no right or wrong amount of time to spend on the training, I felt like I took waaaaayyyy too long to do the little bit that I’ve done. The fact that I made excuses about how little my available chunks of time were was a big reason that I chose “Start” as my word of the year.
While my word-of-the-year motivated me to (fairly) consistently get up early every morning to get things done, I wasn’t focusing that time as I needed. I’d get sucked into email or have to make lunches, and before I knew it, my limited morning time was gone.
In my session with Michele, however, we made a plan for me to complete EBA in the next 90 days. I set July 4-5 as a sort of Independence Day for myself! Since our meeting, I have been getting up every morning, not always at 5:00 am but always early enough to get ready for work AND get at least 40 minutes of blog work in. In addition to that morning time, I set a goal to also get up early on the weekends so that I’d have 3 1/2 hours to work Saturday and Sunday before the day would get away from me with housework, errands and shopping, and relaxing time as a family.
Today is day 3, and the first weekend day that I’ve EVER gotten up at 5:00 am, and I’m so proud of my progress so far! I have a post written for next week that I’m really excited about…it will help me and YOU…and is part of a four week series. I have two months of blog posts planned and plenty of things brainstormed for future months (not that post subjects are ever a problem). And best of all I have the momentum to keep going and know that what seems like a simple change is going to have a BIG impact on my time, my writing, and the blog!
Friend’s Book Launch!
My friend, Angela, is launching her first book on Amazon and I’m so excited for her! Angela blogs at The Diligent Woman and I met her through the Elite Blog Academy. She invited me to a blogger mastermind group, where we support each other and help each other as bloggers and entrepreneurs. And as part of that group, I was invited to help her with the exciting launch of this bible study.
I’ll admit, despite being a Catholic all my life, I hadn’t participated in a bible study or really READ the bible until the past year or so. Due to some personal trials, I was drawn closer to God and my relationship with Him changed for the better. I was always grateful for my faith and was a believer. I prayed, regularly attended mass, and contributed to my church. But with this transformation came a deeper prayer and spiritual life and I finally get what people mean when they say that God “spoke” to them (and I’m not talking about the crazies that used the voices in their heads to do harm). I rely on God now for even the seemingly trivial things (like my business!) and I’m better able to trust and understand His plan. (Or at least I think I do. ;))
I was excited, then, for this bible study that helps women recognize their true beauty and to know that they are loved. If I don’t have a guide for going through the bible, I get lost because I’m just not familiar enough with how to navigate it. But when I spend time, even 15 minutes each day, I find it so grounding and it’s like God chooses just the verse I needed to hear that day. I was also excited that Angela created a journal to go with it because sometimes I just feel like writing down my thoughts or want to remember favorite verses.

More blissful happenings…
Last weekend Faith had her first gymnastics meet! It was just a home meet, not with other gymnastics teams, but was a great practice experience for the girls! They competed against others in their level, and in the four events that Faith competed in, she got 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places, scoring 2nd overall for her level! We were proud and took her for ice cream to celebrate!
I haven’t had a lot of time to scroll Instagram these days, but I did see this bathroom organization idea that just might work in our bathroom for additional storage!
And this mug! I <3 mugs!
Well I hope you have a wonderful rest of your weekend! For us it’s Easter egg hunts, church and shopping for an upcoming trip! And of course, early morning work on the blog! 😉
