Lots to smile about this week!
1. Family vacation for the memory books
My husband, daughter and I ventured a state over for a short end-of-summer vacation before school started. We visited my aunt and her family, enjoyed some wonderful restaurants, and had a fun day at an amusement park! It was a much needed few days away to just enjoy being together, and I was so pleased how everything just fell into place (despite striking out on the first two attempts at finding a specific restaurant for lunch as we got to our destination!). Faith was super thrilled to stay at a hotel and have several opportunities to swim – her favorite pastime!
2. HomeTalk opportunity
Getting asked to work with HomeTalk on this clipboard and related post was an honor, and I hope to get to work with them again!
3. My Blissful Space in the news!
I was so excited to get the opportunity to promote My Blissful Space in our local paper, and just as excited that my photos didn’t make me cringe! There were some things I wish I’d said, but all-in-all I was happy with how the article turned out. (I did realize I was leaning on a desk that I was supposed to be “painting”, and corrected it for the last photos…but those aren’t the ones that got used. Oh well!)
More on that desk soon!!! I can’t wait to show you!
4. Clydesdales in town!
My husband works for Budweiser and the distributorship that he is at was awarded the honor of a visit from the Clydesdales (one in five distributorships in the country!)! It’s been a big deal around here this week and I was able to take a couple friends and my daycare kids for a special VIP tour!!! The horses are beautiful and we got to see Clyde, their resident dalmation, running around the stables. It was all pretty cool and our family gets to go to the award ceremony tomorrow evening. If only I could ride one…
5. Hello Instagram!
I’ve had an Instagram account for quite a while, and I knew many bloggers used it and linked to it from their blogs, but it was one of those social media outlets that I didn’t entirely understand…especially where my blog and business were concerned. But I took an online class through The Influence Network this week in an attempt to continually educate myself and improve my blogging and business skills, and in that class learned how (and why) to use Instagram. I added some more pics this week and am trying to get into a habit of regularly posting on there. So, for a more personal side of me and My Blissful Space, be sure to follow me on Instagram! (Just click on the raindrop with the camera, upper left column!) I snapped this photo of my new umbrella necklace while waiting to pick up Faith from school!
