1. New iPhone!
I have complained a few times about the photos on my blog. I have to admit, a large part of that is due to me waiting until my daycare kids are napping and the house is darker than usual before I take photos for my posts. A tripod might have also helped, as would have reviewing the owner’s manual.
Of course I don’t always have my camera with me wherever I go, anyway, and my cell phone camera was certainly not great. I have wanted a DLSR for quite a while now, but it’s just not in the budget, nor will it be for quite a while. (Hmmm…kitchen remodel or camera?) Besides, so many bloggers use their iPhones for a lot of their pics anyway, so I figured, “why bother?”. I’d much rather have my phone with me at all times (which I already do) than lug around a larger camera and potentially extra lenses! (Maybe someday.)
Well, last weekend I bit the bullet and I think my blog photos are demonstrating the improvement. Now if only I could take a picture of my phone WITH my phone! 😉
|Not a great photo because, as you can see, it’s taken with my camera…not my phone.|
2. Cutest iPhone Case
Can you tell I love my phone? I had to protect it (of COURSE), and found a cute mint case on Amazon. My friends make fun of me because it matches my Martha Stewart notebook and everything else for My Blissful Space. (I was referred to as a Stepford Wife. Oh yeah, ladies. I said it. You know who you are!) What can I say? I love my color scheme and I’m not afraid to match!
|Yep. It has sparkles.|
3. Healthy Cookie Makeover
My favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe is from Crisco (Butter Crisco, to be exact). In the spirit of coconut oil experimentation, I decided to attempt substituting coconut oil for the Butter Crisco (and used whole wheat instead of white, which I often do). I immediately was concerned because I thought, “They won’t taste buttery…this might not be good.” Have to say…DIDN’T MISS IT AT ALL! They’re delicious! I just love when a healthy recipe makeover turns out just as good as the original!
(Note: They didn’t stay together well because I undercooked them a tad. Would rather have that than overcooked any day!)
4. Easter Fun!

It is 50 degrees and beautiful today and I am SO happy! We were able to enjoy our MOPS Easter egg hunt and picnic without coats!
Wishing you and your family a very happy Easter!
