1. Cinnamon Chipotle (Healthy) Hot Chocolate
My afternoon snack/treat (when the daycare kids lay down for their naps) lately has been the Perfect Hot Chocolate recipe from Chocolate Covered Katie. A couple days this week, however, I added a couple of my favorite add-ins: cinnamon and chipotle chili powder. For those who have never had chocolate and chili, I highly recommend it (to quote the famous Ferris Bueller). A little will do ya! It adds a nice warmth and kick to hot cocoa, and a couple extra seasonings and herbs never hurt! (Don’t forget the whipped cream, and you can even add a little extra dash of cinnamon and/or chili powder on top for garnish and extra flavor!)
That reminds me…it’s about time for my cocoa now.

5. Can I Get An Om-men?!
No, I’m not referring to “omen”. I’m talking about “ooooommmmmmmm…” as in yoga! Every Tuesday, a couple friends and I attend yoga at my favorite coffee shop/massage/yoga place! (The businesses are connected but not in the same room, fyi. ;)) Yoga always helps me relax and reconnect with myself and my thoughts, something that’s really tough in this busy world.
Well, this week our instructor, Julie, brought out some more challenging poses since we had only regulars in attendance. I LOVE to be challenged in yoga! I love doing balancing poses and things that feel like a workout (well, because they are a workout).
|One of my favorite poses: Moon Pose|
Yep. I did that. (With a block. But I DID that.) Moon pose is one of my favorites! When Julie said, “We’re going to do some wall poses,” I about did cartwheels (in my head).
I was so much more rested and my mind so relaxed . I look forward to a day when I can do yoga at least three times a week! Implementing poses at home is on the goal list!
