Another way that I started organizing in my kitchen this past year was to create space for my husband to be able to see what our week ahead looked like and for me to write grocery list items as I realized they were out or low. I have had a full calendar in my kitchen before and I just never looked at it or remembered to keep it current. I use a planner for myself and maintaining two full calendars was just too much. I found these awesome Martha Stewart vinyl clings at Staples that I applied to my fridge, and both problems were solved!
The one is a weekly calendar where every Sunday or Monday I write down any meetings or appointments for the week. I have found this much easier to maintain than a calendar, and since it’s on the front of the fridge, I never forget about it (and it’s in plain sight for Brad, too). Below the weekly agenda are two blank vinyl clings: One I use for creating my grocery list as things run out (I then transfer it to paper when it’s time to go to the store), and the other I use as a to-do or project list (for the things I wouldn’t necessarily include in my planner).
I don’t love things on my fridge, but I’d rather have something like this than a bunch of magnets, etc. Bottom line, it works for us and that’s what matters!
